There are dozens of events happening in NYC over Halloween,  family friendly events, even the biggest Halloween Parade in the country. But there’s only one Monster Ball.

The Monster Ball concept and event, founded in 2012, is the largest Halloween weekend events in New York City with over 10,000 people attending each year.

In 2015, the demand for the event grew so high that a second night had to be added to satisfy our audience. In 2017, Monster Ball went a step further and added our third night.

This Brooklyn Halloween parade starts on Washington Street and heads through DUMBO and Brooklyn Bridge Park before ending up at the Dumbo Archway.

Wanna Go Pumpkin Picking At Decker Farm?

This more traditional Halloween fun takes place outside the city, so head out to Decker Farm in Historic Richmond Town, Staten Island. 

Each year during Halloween season Decker Farm offers family-friendly activities. 

On October weekends, enjoy hay rides, a corn maze, arts and crafts, face painting, and pumpkin picking. Starts October 1st and continues until October 30th, 2022.

The New York Comedy Festival returns to #MakeNYLaugh on Nov 7 – 13

Created in 2004, the New York Comedy Festival is a seven-day festival featuring more than 200 comedians performing in more than 100 shows at venues throughout all five boroughs of New York City.

The festival is produced by Carolines on Broadway.

WHEN IS THE FESTIVAL?

The Festival runs from Monday, November 7 – Sunday, November 13.

WHERE DOES THE NEW YORK COMEDY FESTIVAL TAKE PLACE?

The New York Comedy Festival takes place at venues including the Beacon Theatre, BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, Carolines on Broadway, Hulu Theater at MSG, Madison Square Garden and Town Hall throughout the five boroughs of New York City and at the UBS Arena at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York.

WHEN IS THE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS ANNOUNCED?

Dita Von Teese announced that she will be bringing the world’s biggest burlesque show, ‘Glamontrix’ to North America next year.

Produced by Live Nation, the 21-date tour kicks off on January 7th, 2023, in Seattle, WA at the Paramount Theatre, making stops across North America in San Francisco, New Orleans, New York, and more along with a special performance on Valentine’s Day at The Chicago Theatre.

The tour hits three cities in Texas, plus Dita’s home state of Michigan, with a finale show in Riverside, CA at the Fox Performing Arts Center on February 24th.

Dita’s burlesque show continues to break records as the biggest and most lavish burlesque show in history.

Hot on the heels of her 41-show tour overseas in historic theaters, including The London Palladium, Opera Garnier Monte Carlo, Folies Bergère and Vienna’s Burgtheatre, Dita is thrilled to bring the Glamonatrix burlesque revue to cities across the United States and Canada.

Erik is one of 10 individuals who successfully met the qualifications to be awarded the title of Master Sommelier. The results were announced at the Krug Reception on August 31, 2022, at the Royal Sonesta in Portland, Oregon.

The Master Sommelier Diploma is the highest distinction a professional can attain in the beverage service industry.

The Master Sommelier Diploma Examination consists of three sections:

Brian premiered his second Netflix stand-up special, Brian Regan: On The Rocks, on February 23, 2021.  Brian’s first Netflix special, Brian Regan: Nunchucks And Flamethrowers, premiered to rave reviews on November 21, 2017, and is also available as a vinyl album.

In 2021, Brian returned for his third season in Peter Farrelly’s TV series, Loudermilk, which is streaming on Amazon Prime.  Farrelly personally cast Brian in the series alongside Ron Livingston, Anja Savcic, Will Sasso and Mat Fraser.  Brian received praise for his portrayal of “Mugsy,” a recovering addict who is estranged from his family.

At its core, WARRANT is an American rock band through and through.

Hitting it big in 1989, the Hollywood, CA based band rose through the ranks of the local Sunset Strip scene to the level of multiplatinum selling, chart-topping success.

The band first came into the national spotlight with their debut album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich.

This album produced Radio and MTV chart toppers “Down Boys,” “Sometimes She Cries,” and the massive hit “Heaven” which reached #1 in Rolling Stone and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in a row.

The single “Heaven” enjoyed Gold sales and the Album went Platinum in Canada as well, eventually selling over 3 million copies. The band toured the globe performing 262 shows in support of DRFSR and closed the year with a Platinum Home Video.

The production will be the first show to play at the newly re-named and renovated James Earl Jones Theatre (formerly the 110-year-old Cort Theatre at 138 West 48th St.) with previews beginning on Friday, November 11, 2022 and opening on Thursday, December 8, 2022 for a strictly limited engagement.

Full casting, creative team and ticket on-sale information through Telecharge will be announced at a later date. This inaugural production is proudly presented by Jeffrey Richards, Lincoln Center Theater, Rebecca Gold, Jayne Baron Sherman, Hunter Arnold, Irene Gandy, Kevin Ryan/Lisa Alexander Taylor, Marc David Levine, Concord Theatricals, The Nederlander Organization and The Shubert Organization.

“One of the finest living American playwrights…” (The New York Times), Obie Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, and a member of the Theater Hall of Fame, Adrienne Kennedy will make her Broadway debut with this production at age 91. Earlier this year, Kennedy was awarded the Gold Medal for Drama from the Academy of Arts and Letters, which is awarded to those who have achieved eminence in an entire body of work.

Only four other dramatists have been awarded the Gold Medal:  Edward Albee, Tennessee Williams, Eugene O’Neill and Arthur Miller. Ms. Kennedy has been contributing to American theater for over six decades, and is best known for her plays such as Funnyhouse of a Negro (Obie Award), June and Jean in Concert (Obie Award), and Sleep Deprivation Chamber (Obie Award) and numerous other plays and books.

“I am so thrilled. It’s only taken me 65 years to make it to Broadway!”

said Kennedy.

“I’m honored and humbled to be part of Adrienne Kennedy’s long-overdue Broadway debut in the newly dedicated James Earl Jones Theatre with Kenny Leon,” said McDonald. “This timeless play has a powerful resonance and relevance today, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”

When writer Suzanne Alexander (Audra McDonald) returns to her alma mater as a guest speaker, in which she explores the violence in her works, a dark mystery unravels. Adrienne Kennedy’s Ohio State Murders is an intriguing and unusual suspense play, as well as a social pertinent look at the destructiveness of racism in our society.

The renaming of the Cort Theatre to the James Earl Jones Theatre was announced by The Shubert Organization, Inc. in March of 2022 in recognition of Mr. Jones’s lifetime of immense contributions to Broadway and the entire artistic community. Shubert has performed extensive renovation and construction work on the 110-year-old theatre, including construction of a new, contemporary wing.

Beanie Feldstein ends her Funny Girl role July 31

Beanie Feldstein ends her run starring as Fanny Brice in Broadway’s Funny Girl July 31, the production’s first original cast member to leave.

The production will continue performances at the August Wilson Theatre with standby Julie Benko taking over the role through September 4 and Glee star Lea Michele set to join the company beginning September 6.

Feldstein was originally announced to leave the production September 25, but subsequently announced she would be leaving sooner, saying “the show in a different direction.”

The rising female star made her Broadway debut in 2017’s Hello, Dolly!, playing Minnie Fay.

Funny Girl originally premiered on Broadway in 1964, with a score by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill, and a book by Isobel Lennart, 2022-adapted by Tony winner Harvey Fierstein for this revival.

The original production propelled a young Barbra Streisand to international fame; and the 1968 film adaptation won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe.

In addition to Feldstein, Jane Lynch, Ramin Karimloo, and Tony nominee Jared Grimes.

The company includes Peter Francis James as Florenz Ziegfeld, Ephie Aardema as Mrs. Nadler, Debra Cardona as Mrs. Meeker, Toni DiBuono as Mrs. Strakosh, Martin Moran as Tom Keeney, and Benko as the standby for Fanny Brice.

Benko has gone on as Fanny several times throughout the run, including during Feldstein’s recent bout with COVID-19.

The production is directed by Michael Mayer, who leads a creative team that includes choreography by Ellenore Scott, tap choreography by Ayodele Casel, music supervision and direction by Michael Rafter, scenic design by David Zinn, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kevin Adams, sound design by Brian Ronan, and hair design by Campbell Young Associates. Casting is by Jim Carnahan and Jason Thinger.

The production also includes orchestrations by Chris Walker; dance, vocal, and incidental music arrangements by Alan Williams; additional arrangements by Carmel Dean and David Dabbon; music coordination by Seymour Red Press and Kimberlee Wertz; and vocal supervision by Liz Caplan.
