Pauly Shore tasted super-stardom in 1990 when his MTV show “Totally Pauly” hit the airwaves to major fan approval.

The show ran for six years, leading Pauly to a one-hour HBO comedy special, “Pauly Does Dallas,” and starring roles in films like “Jury Duty,” “In the Army Now,” “Bio-Dome,” “Encino Man,” “Son In Law,” and “A Goofy Movie.”

Pauly went on to produce and star in several of his own projects, including “Pauly Shore is Dead,” as well as the comedy specials “Vegas is My Oyster,” on Showtime starring Andy Dick, Tom Green, Bobby Lee, and “Pauly-Tics,” on Showtime starring Herman Cain and Larry King. In 2014, he released “Pauly Shore Stands Alone,” a true-life road documentary that follows Pauly as he performs in obscure towns throughout Wisconsin while dealing with his personal life. It appeared on Showtime and is available on Amazon Prime and YouTube.

Other recent projects include Adam Sandler’s “Sandy Wexler,” the short film “Sin City Psycho” Dreamworks’ animated “The Big Trip,” Lionsgate’s animated film “The Little Penguin: Pororo’s Dinosaur Island Adventure” and the indie feature “How it Ends” starring Whitney Cummings, Olivia Wilde, Nick Kroll and more. Pauly also starred in the movie “Guest House,” which is currently streaming on Netflix (digital and on-demand). In 2022, Pauly voiced characters in Dreamworks’ “Pinocchio: A True Story” and “My Sweet Monster.”

Pauly released a series of video interviews in 2017 called the “Pauly Shore Podcast Show.” His guests included Judd Apatow, Iliza Shlesinger, Bob Saget and more. Pauly also hosted a podcast called “Pauly Shore’s Random Rants” which you can find on Bill Burr’s All Things Comedy, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher and YouTube. Pauly also creates fun content for his fans, including a five minute workout show called Sweatin with the Wiez, recreation of iconic movie scenes called “Classic Scenes from Classic Movies” and music videos with his band ‘Pauly Shore and The Crustys – all of which can be seen on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.

Apart from actively touring the country with his stand-up comedy, Pauly is working on a documentary of his life that spans the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s along with a memoir called “How’d You Expect Me to Turn Out” and a one man show about his life entitled “Stick with the Dancing: Funny Stories From my Childhood”.

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers Play NY’s Patchogue Theatre March 3

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers Play NY’s Patchogue Theatre March 3

It’s Bagpipes. It’s Rock. It’s Bagrock. AC/DC meets the poet Robert Burns. Where rock anthems sit comfortably alongside the great tunes from the glens and the mountains of Scotland.

It’s The Red Hot Chilli PIPERS – (NOT the Peppers!) – a 9-piece ensemble consisting of pipers, guitarists, keyboards, and drummers — who have been rocking the world from New York to Beijing to Melbourne and everywhere in between with musicianship of the highest order and a passion for pipes that will leave you breathless. The band has four music degrees from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and all the pipers and drummers have played at the top level in bagpiping.

Since they walked away with the top prize on the primetime TV talent show, “When Will I Be Famous” in the U.K. in 2007, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers haven’t stopped for a breath, other than to inflate their bagpipes! Formed in 2002, The Chillis have fast become a global phenomenon, taking their signature ‘Bagrock’ sound to the masses with their unique fusion of rocked up Bagpipes and clever covers of popular songs from all genres. Their trademarked sound is a unique fusion of traditional pipe tunes – like “The Flowers of Scotland”, “The Hills of Argyll”, and “Amazing Grace” (done Chilli-style, of course!) — and contemporary anthems like Queen’s “We Will Rock You”, “Clocks” by Coldplay, “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol, “Let Me Entertain You” by Robbie Williams, and a fantastic rock medley of “Deep Purple”, “Smoke on the Water”, and AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck”.

Fun facts about the Chillis:

  • Over 2.5 million views on YouTube of their viral cover of the Avicci track ‘Wake Me Up’
  • Gold record for over 100,000 UK sales of their first album “Bagrock to the Masses”
  • Triple platinum album status for third album and DVD – “Blast Live”
  • Awarded twice for “Best Live Act in Scotland”
  • Sold out tours in the UK, USA, China Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Denmark, France, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Ukraine, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and India
  • Regular performances for A-List showbiz, sports stars and royalty – including Ewan McGregor, Sir Paul McCartney, Gary Player, Samuel Jackson and Her Majesty the Queen
  • Over 250,000 Facebook followers and a very active Twitter following of thousands of fans

The Chillis have never been more in demand for their infectious style of feel-good music which appeals right across the age range to people all over the world. Theirs are the very best musicians from Scotland and across the globe – many holding World Champion titles and all serious players with impressive credentials and qualifications. There has never been anything quite like The Red Hot Chilli Pipers. Feel the Chilli heat: It’s time to come closer to the fire!

Lea Michele’s Broadway Sensation ‘Funny Girl’ Sets Closing Date

Lea Michele’s Broadway Sensation ‘Funny Girl’ Sets Closing Date

Life on Broadway is coming to a close for the company of “Funny Girl.” The Broadway revival extended its run, but the show will play its final performance on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023.

Its closing date is nearly exactly one year after Lea Michele joined the cast.

The revival of “Funny Girl” first opened in April 2022 led by Beanie Feldstein as Fanny Brice. But she and Jane Lynch, who was replaced by Tovah Feldshuh as Fanny’s mother, departed the production in August after the production was plagued with poor reviews and modest turnout.

“Funny Girl” likely would have closed sooner without the casting changes.

But box office results have been on the upswing since last September and seats at the August Wilson Theater have remained well-sold, even setting multiple house records. By the time the cast, including Ramin Karimloo as Nicky Arnstein and Jared Grimes as Eddie Ryan, takes its final bow, the Broadway revival will have played 599 performances and 30 previews.

As previously announced, “Funny Girl” will launch a tour in September, starting Providence, R.I., before continuing to more than 30 North American cities.

“Funny Girl” follows Brice on her improbable rise to fame and her stormy relationship with gambler Nicky Arnstein. The musical features theater classics like “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star” and “People.” In a unique arrangement, Julie Benko, who has become a fan favorite at the August Wilson Theater, performs the role of Fanny Brice every Thursday and while Michele is out.

The musical debuted on Broadway in 1964, starring Barbra Streisand, and received several Tony nominations. The revival marks the first time “Funny Girl” has returned to the Great White Way in 58 years.

Michele certainly had tough shoes to fill, but critics have favorably compared her performance to Streisand’s star-making turn.

Railroad Earth Plays Patchogue Theatre March 22 2023

Railroad Earth plays Patchogue Theatre March 22, 2023.

For over two decades, Railroad Earth has captivated audiences with gleefully unpredictable live shows and eloquent and elevated studio output.

The group introduced its signature sound on 2001’s The Black Bear Sessions.

Between selling out hallowed venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO, they’ve launched the longstanding annual Hangtown Music Festival in Placerville, CA and Hillberry: The Harvest Moon Festival in Ozark, AR—both running for a decade-plus.

Sought after by legends, the John Denver Estate tapped them to put lyrics penned by the late John Denver to music on the 2019 vinyl EP, Railroad Earth: The John Denver Letters.

Beyond tallying tens of millions of streams, the collective have earned widespread critical acclaim from David Fricke of Rolling Stone, American Songwriter, Glide Magazine, and NPR who assured,

“Well-versed in rambling around, as you might expect from a band named after a Jack Kerouac poem,

the New Jersey-built jam-grass engine Railroad Earth has let no moss grow under its rustic wheels.”

The celebrated New Jersey septet — Todd Sheaffer [lead vocals, acoustic guitar], Tim Carbone [violins, electric guitar, vocals], John Skehan [mandolin, bouzouki, piano, vocals], Carey Harmon [drums, percussion, vocals], Dave Speranza [upright & electric bass], Matt Slocum (organ and piano), and Mike Robinson (banjo, guitar, steel) chronicle the twists and turns of this journey through eloquent songcraft, bluegrass soul, and rock ‘n’ roll spirit.

Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes Plays Patchogue Theatre Friday March 10

For Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes – ‘comfortable’ – has never been a word associated with their brand of raucous, roots-tinged rock and bluesy reverie.

named […]one of the “top 100 albums of the 70s and 80s”

The band has flourished with more than thirty albums, releasing twelve studio albums since 1976….Rolling Stone named their early release “Hearts of Stone” as one of the “top 100 albums of the 70s and 80s”….thousands of live performances around the globe, a legion of famously-dedicated and enthusiastic fans, and a vibrant legacy of classic songs that have become “hits” to their worldwide fan base.

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes emerged from the New Jersey shore scene in 1974, and though they carried over a significant influence (and some key personnel) from Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, the Jukes evolved as more of a white R&B horn band in the Memphis Stax Records tradition.

Organized by singer John Lyon, guitarist/songwriter Steve Van Zandt (who decamped for the E Street Band in 1975, but continued to produce, manage, and write songs for the Jukes) and Richie Rosenberg, the band is well known for their high-energy live shows and no-holds-barred songs, including “I Don’t Wanna Go Home,” “Havin’ a Party,” “The Fever,” “Talk to Me,” “Trapped Again,” and “This Time It’s For Real.”
